CTTC October 30, 2024 Meeting

The October CTTC Meeting will be Wednesday, October 30th, at 7:00 PM.
Doors open around 6:45 PM.

New News:

  1. November Meeting Update
    Due to Thanksgiving scheduling conflicts, the November meeting has been rescheduled to December 4th. Be sure to update your calendars!

  2. Club Shirts Available
    Members who have ordered shirts can pick them up for $25.00 each. We also have limited extras in various sizes available for purchase at the same price. Prices will increase to $35.00 on January 1st due to supplier costs.

  3. 34th Annual Festival of Toy Trains

    • Location: Goleta Library
    • Setup: Friday, December 13th (Time to be determined)
    • Show Dates:
      • Saturday, December 14th, 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM
      • Sunday, December 15th, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
        Members are welcome to bring their O-gauge and Standard gauge trains to run on the display.
    • Take Down: Monday, December 16th (Time to be determined)
  4. Bosse Toy Train Museum Opening – Call for Volunteer Docents
    We need volunteer docents for the Bosse Toy Train Museum, which will be opened on the same weekend of the Festival:

    • Saturday, December 14th: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    • Sunday, December 15th: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  5. Annual Club Dinner at The Timbers
    Enjoy a four-dinner selection:

    • Tri Tip Dinner: Mashed potatoes and veggies
    • Local Catch: Rice pilaf and veggies
    • Chicken Piccata: Fettuccine pasta and veggies
    • Roasted Vegetable Lasagna: Marinara and roasted veggies
    • Beverage Station: Iced tea, water, lemonade

CTTC September 28, 2024 Meeting

This is a reminder that the September CTTC meeting WILL NOT BE WEDS 9/25!!!
 
Instead, Fred Duerner has graciously offered to host on Saturday 9/28 at his Glen Annie Ranch.
 
Here is the details 
Welcome visitors!
 
A few helpful suggestions for all guests to remember while visiting the ranch on Saturday, September 28
 
Drive slow, no smoking anywhere on ranch, carpooling / ride sharing encouraged as we carpool or caravan to three sites on the ranch, follow and park in line
 
From the 670 mailbox located on Glen Annie Road, Goleta, Turn right into the Glen Annie Ranch and proceed 200 yards until you come to the stone entry “GRACEWOOD Gate”
 
Site 1:  Meet at SHOP at 10:00 AM (first barn on the left at GRACEWOOD gate, this is before you get to the old farm house on the ranch at 670)
    See machine shop, Model A’s, model room, oil lamps, antique tools in refrigerator
 
Site 2:  Leaving to the CARRIAGE BARN at 10:30 am (barn near pond and 1876 library) 
 
    See train layouts, Model A’s, art work, clocks
 
    See train room for other railroad collectibles
 
    Restroom in stock trailer
 
Site 3:  Leaving to the ROUND HOUSE at 11:00 am (at 650 top of hill) Carpooling is best for this part of the tour (parking may be a problem at top of this small hill).
 
    See trains, bronzes, art work, books, models, musical instruments
 
Site 4:  Leaving to the GRACEWOOD HOME at 11:30 am (at 610 top of another hill)  Caravanning from the Carriage Barn parking area (following the leader) is best for this part     of the tour.
 
    See garage for drinks in refrigerator, trains, various accumulations and collectibles
 
    See office for trains, bronzes, Titanic, Railway Express, musical instruments
 
    See den room for art work, musical instruments, pirate, fire fighting, Civil War
 
    See mid-patio for G scale train, yard art, cast iron
 
    See ocean view patio, deck, dining tables for bar-b-que hot dog lunch
 
    Ping pong and foo’s ball on east side of house
 
Exiting:  Drive slow follow exit sign for easy departure
